The first Unit is The Call, an introduction and explanation of the program. It includes an opportunity to get acquainted and bond with classmates and to learn about some journeys to adulthood in the past.

Students participate in the first of the "Challenge" activities, in which they experience the concept of groups of people with rules that may seem arbitrary, and find out what happens when a group member breaks those rules.
